This is a spacious flat with an open outlook onto a park, right in the centre of Scotland's beautiful capital. From here, you can get everywhere on foot or by bus. There are plenty of restaurants, pubs and cafes in the neighbourhood.

At 500.000 inhabitants, Edinburgh is big enough to call itself a city but still small enough to feel cosy, a bit like an international village. Edinburgh architecture is truly striking and will leave a lasting Impression: there's the 18th century New Town and the medieval Old Town, a World Heritage Site. The latter is a 10 to 15 min walk from our doorstep, the New Town is about 30 minutes on foot. Of course, there are plenty of buses in all directions and taxis are affordable.

Edinburgh has a beach, an inner city "pet" mountain, former vulcano called Arthur's Seat (some see a guardian lion in it). Arthur's Seat is 10 minutes away from us, it lies inmidst a spectacular huge park with an abundance of Walking or running paths.

There's the Queen's Palace, plenty of (free) museums, an underground world from medieval times, the famous Edinburgh Castle which sits on top of a rock, and much more…
Glasgow is 50km away and also well worth a visit, or two. Needless to say, nature lovers will find plenty to do both south and lorth of Edinburgh. The lowlands in the south are less well known but great for cycling and walking. The Highlands and Western Isles are stunning and deserve their own visits. However, much can be done as a daytrip from Edinburgh, plenty of busses going everywhere.
