Quiet little house, tucked away near the beach

The house was once part of a ship's chandlers in the old Fishertown of Nairn. It's simple and comfortable, with a private little garden.
Nairn is a busy, historic little town with lots going on. It's close to lovely beaches and beautiful countryside. It's a great centre for walking.

About the neighborhood

We are in a little quiet corner of the town, within 10 minutes walk for shops, restaurants and the local museum. There are lovely walks along the beaches and up the river and the High Street has a good range of interesting independent shops. There is a very good range of cafes and restaurants to enjoy.
The town has a good bus service to the east and west. The train station is about a 20 minute walk away.
We are on the route of the British national cycle route 1.
The town Highland games is very atmospheric with a large fair
Nairn Book and Arts Festival takes place at the beginning of September.
There are castles to visit and we are in easy travelling distance to many whisky distilleries.

Kath had left us lots of information and maps about the area and given us some tips on where to go. The listing is very accurate in its description, in a quiet backwater but very close to the town centre. The house was very clean and tidy and Kath had left us milk and we were told to use any food stuffs in the kitchen.

La maison est bien située. Emplacement idéal pour visiter Inverness et ses environs. Les échanges avec Kathleen ont été cordiaux. Elle a pris soin de notre maison.

We haven't met Kath but spoken to her at length on the phone, she was very friendly and helpful. Her home is in a quiet backwater just off the high street, which is very convenient for the shops. The house is quirky in layout, but very confortable and very well kept. Great facilities and a lovely little sunny and secluded garden.
