Flat on the outskirts of hamburg
The house I live in is located on the outskirts of Hamburg. There are parks nearby that take you along a small river called the "Rahlau," and you can cycle along that river to the center of Hamburg— it takes about an hour.
All shopping facilities are within easy reach, and buses as well as the subway take about 25 minutes to get to Hamburg’s central station.
I have a lovely guest apartment upstairs, complete with a kitchenette and bathroom. It’s under the roof, offering a nice view from above. You reach it by entering my apartment, and going up a stairway. Other than sharing the entrance, both apartments are separate from each other, so privacy can be maintained if desired .
Hamburg boasts a vibrant cultural scene, with theaters, the opera, the harbor district "Speicherstadt," and, since 2017, our beloved Elbphilharmonie. I visit the Elbphilharmonie frequently and know a lot about getting tickets, so if you let me know about your visit in advance, I might be able to help you find tickets!

Sobre a vizinhança
Rahlstedt is a district on the outskirts, relatively quiet as a neighborhood, with many single-family homes and gardens. For cultural activities and culinary offerings, one has to travel into the city. However, it is nice to relax here in the evenings with more peace and wind down the day. And whatever you may need during your stay here, it can be found closeby here : there are shopping amenities, doctors, a public swimming pool, fitness studios etc.
The trainstation is close by , and the train takes 15 minutes to the main trainstation in hamburg.
Travelling by car of by bike, you can leave the city of hamburg by going 2 kilometer eastwards, then heading north or east ,
passing by quaint little towns and villages. To travel to the baltic sea takes about 2 hours, to travel to the wadden sea and the north sea , 2 to 3 hours.

I worked as a psychologist at a family counseling center until my retirement in 2015. After that, a new chapter of my life began, filled with creative activities. For many years, I painted in an art studio and was also a student of an djembe drumming teacher . My focus then shifted towards dance expression as well as learning and playing small percussion, including performing with the Kreativ Orchester at the Elbphilharmonie . I am currently looking for an (amateur) band to join. I absolutely love being on stage! Fortunately, there are always opportunities to do so in Hamburg.
I am involved in various networks (the diamond approach, pecunia , deep ecology ) , and I love it when a sunday brunch with friends extends over hours of eating and talking, going for a walk, and then again eating and talking......!
I have a forty-year-old son who lives in Berlin with this partner .
I grew up bilingual, speaking both English and German, and lived in the USA for ten years as a young adult. I still feel quite attached to California . In 2012 and 2014 I travelled in the US via intervac : precious memories!
I live alone and enjoy hosting both solo travelers and couples (many of my friends are couples).
