Small town life in the heart of rodeo country.

Quiet, friendly neighborhood within easy driving distance of major cities and our incredible Rocky Mountains. Alberta's varied geography includes mountains and glaciers, unoccupied boreal forest, prairie farm and ranch land, and desert-like "Badlands"- a photographer's dream. Our summers are sunny and warm (22-32 celsius is a normal range). Even on really hot days, our evenings are cool and pleasant, with few bugs. There is easy access to many outdoor adventures like hiking, fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking, ATV rentals and trails, rock climbing, kayaking, and river floats by canoe. Alberta communities make the most of our summer, and there is always a music festival, community fair, rodeo, or farmer's market to attend. If you love to take relaxing and scenic drives, Alberta roads are straight, well-maintained, and rarely busy. And don't worry about finding your way around - we are indeed polite and friendly, and love to chat and visit with " out of towners". In central Alberta, where we live, rodeo and all things equestrian are huge, and every weekend will offer events from small to world-renowned (Spruce Meadows, Calgary Stampede, Canadian Finals Rodeo). You don't have to just be a spectator, as Western and English riding lessons and trail rides are easy to find.
Our house is a roomy one-story bungalow, with a backyard firepit, bbq, and small veggie garden. We have two mountain bikes, and my car (automatic) can be negotiated, as required.
