A pleasant home in Burgundy on the outskirts of Dijon
Our house is located in a very quiet area but is within walking distance from the town centre of Dijon. It is a one-storey house with the kitchen, pantry, bathroom and toilets, study, bedroom and a large living-room on the ground floor with direct access to the garden. There are two other bedrooms , toilets and bathroom on the first floor. The house is surrounded by a secluded garden with a very private paved area for meals outdoors. It is situated at the far end of an alley with parking places available.

Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: Paris / Lyon - 300km / 200km
Our house is within walking distance to the town centre of Dijon (half an hour) and is located at the very end of an alley. There are excellent shopping facilities (supermarket, baker, chemist) nearby.
If need be, buses run every 5 or 8 minutes to the town centre and the bus stop is 150 metres down the road.
We live in a very quiet area and our house belongs to a group of 11 other houses.
We have very friendly neighbours who are ready to give a hand in case, something they have already done on our previous exchanges.
Dijon itself has a lot to offer with its historical city centre ( The town is twinned with York, England). There are numerous churches to be visited as well as museums (the museum of Fine Arts is one of the most famous in France), the town centre is mostly pedestrian with quaint narrow streets and lots of antiques dealers. The food market which is really worth a visit as well is surounded by numerous excellent restaurants.
There are also plenty of day trips or half a day trips to be done if you want to visit the castles, halls or abbeys and churches Burgundy is famous for ... such as Vezelay, Fontenay (both of them Unesco World Heritage), Bussy Rabutin, Epoisses, Tournus, Commarin, Chateauneuf ......
Paris is one hour and a half by TGV (high speed train) and we offten go there for the day for an exhibition and to walk around ... Lyon on the river Rhone (Unesco World Heritage) is 2 hours away by car or by train, Switzerland as well (Geneva, Lausanne, Leman Lake, the Alps) with the Jura mountains to be seen on the way.
