A spacious Cotswold cottage in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

A detached Grade II listed cottage, built in 1760, standing in an elevated location adjoining National Trust Common Land at the rear with quite spectacular views across the Nailsworth valley set in an acre of woodland perfect for children. Comes with bantem chickens (fresh eggs!), guinea pigs and 3 friendly cats.

Our spacious but cosy Cotswold stone cottage has been modernised over recent years but has retained it's period character. All the rooms have quite spectacular views across the valley, and the cottage, which enjoys a sheltered south and west facing aspect, has a front elevation clad with fruiting Kiwi plants and a mature Wisteria. We are a non smoking household and are looking for a non-smoking house swap in return.

Our home comprises of an Entrance Hall, Sitting Room with wood burning stove, Large Farmhouse Kitchen/diner, Utility Room, Shower/Cloakroom, Family Bathroom, Five Bedrooms (the Master with En Suite Bathroom) and a playroom. The cottage is accessed up a steep footpath, but does enjoy the benefit of its own private parking area (close by) for at least two vehicles and lies within a very short distance of the centre of town and the comprehensive amenities provided. To the front there is a very pretty and secluded terrace which takes advantage of the views and the extensive rear gardens have been landscaped with level terraces and a woodland area which adjoins National Trust Common Land.

The centre of Nailsworth is a five minute walk away and has become an increasingly popular shopping destination within the Stroud Valleys benefiting from a large and comprehensive selection of speciality shops including Williams Food Hall, the famous Hobbs House Bakery, various clothing and gift shops, several cafes and a good selection of very well regarded restaurants. In addition to this the town currently benefits from three supermarkets and free parking.
